Check your document before applying for an apostille
The usual reasons for refusal: lamination, a Soviet-era form, corrections, a diploma without its transcript, an electronic certificate instead of a paper one. Answer the questions and find out whether the document will be accepted as it is.
What the tool checks
An apostille certifies the authenticity of the signature, the seal and the office held by whoever signed the document. The authority will therefore refuse if the signature and the seal cannot be read, if the form is laminated, or if the document no longer matches the current official form. The questions below are drawn from the usual grounds for refusal at civil registry offices and at the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and education authorities, as at the date of the check.
The result does not replace the authority's decision: the document is finally accepted or refused by the authority that affixes the apostille and by the institution that will receive the document abroad.
