The stamp is only affixed to an original of the established form and in good condition. A laminated document, a Soviet-era form or one with corrections will not be apostilled: you need a duplicate first.

  2. 2

    Have a notarised copy made

    1 working day

The notary certifies that the copy is a true copy. The apostille is then affixed by the Ministry of Justice to the notary's signature, so the original stays with you.

  3. 3

Translate the document into the language of the destination country and have it notarised

    1–3 working days

The translation is bound to the document and the translator’s signature is certified by a Russian notary. Whether a Russian notarised translation is accepted in Ethiopia we have not confirmed from an official source: check with the consulate before paying. Some countries require the translation to be made locally or certified by the consulate itself.

  4. 4
