    Check the criminal record certificate before you apply

    The stamp is only affixed to an original of the established form and in good condition. A laminated document, a Soviet-era form or one with corrections will not be apostilled: you need a duplicate first.

    Have the apostille affixed to the original

    State fee RUB 2,500 source5–30 working days the certificate itself takes up to 30 calendar days; the apostille takes about a further 5 working days once the certificate is ready. Ask about the combined time when you apply, as Information Centres count it differently

    The apostille on the criminal record certificate is affixed by the Main Information and Analytical Centre of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, or the regional Information Centre that issued the certificate. The state fee is paid in advance and the receipt is attached to the application.
