Check the school certificate before you apply
The stamp is only affixed to an original of the established form and in good condition. A laminated document, a Soviet-era form or one with corrections will not be apostilled: you need a duplicate first.

The apostille on the school certificate is affixed by the regional executive authority responsible for confirming educational documents (under Government Decree No. 479 of 30 May 2016). The state fee is paid in advance and the receipt is attached to the application.

Have the translation certified by a notary in Ukraine
There are no sworn translators in Ukraine: the accuracy of a translation is certified there by a notary. A Russian notarised translation will not do for that — the document is translated together with the apostille, so the translation comes last and is made locally.
